Dear family and friends,

Thank you! Thank you!  for your support last year. The Montgomery House Library collected over $6,000 in its 2007 Annual Fund Drive. Due to your kindness and the contributions of our municipalities, the library was able to expand its operating hours from 41 to 45 hours per week at the beginning of the year. By expanding our operating hours, we are hoping to qualify for Incentive for Excellence Aid, which could double our financial support from the state. 

Please keep in mind that the library is largely funded through your donations, grants, fundraisers, and miscellaneous fees such as fines.  The library sponsors three fundraisers a year:  a Cow Pie Bingo, a Toy Chinese Auction, and our annual fund drive - all combined equal $13,000.  Our annual operating budget is $110,000, of which 70% is the responsibility of the library to raise. The remaining 30% is provided by the state and local municipal governments.  For the past four years, the library has been using its reserve funds to sustain its program.  Our computer server, which stores all our library records, is over 8 years old and is running a Windows 2000 platform.  We are desperately in need of your support to help upgrade our technology and maintain our services!  If you enjoy the opportunities and services at the library, please contribute towards our annual fund drive.  We cannot continue without your assistance.

We ask you to be generous when reviewing our letter.  Any donation made to the library is tax deductible.   The library believes every little bit counts, for that reason we will have a collection jar at the circulation desk.  The next time you are in, drop in a few coins.  A little goes a long way and we would greatly appreciate it.
